Hands down one of the worst curries I have eaten. The beef curry was so tasteless it was practically beef stew.The red ramen was not spicy at all and had a very underwhelming taste.Maybe I'll try some other dishes next time but these two dishes were quite mid.

I've been to the downtown Ryujin many times and was excited to try this new location, but unfortunately, it felt like an off night for the food. The service was great, and the staff were attentive throughout our visit.We had reservations for 7 PM, and when we arrived, there were only two other tables occupied. I don't think many people know about this location yet, but I'm sure it will get busier as word gets out.As for the food, the fried oysters (kaki) were cooked perfectly and paired well with the sauce. However, the chicken wings were underwhelming--soft rather than crispy, bland, and in need of sauce. I ordered my usual, the AKA (red Tonkotsu ramen), but this time it was lukewarm and lacked its usual depth of flavor. We also tried the miso ramen, which turned out bland as well. Usually, miso broth has a noticeable salt base, but this one seemed extra light.Overall, I wish there had been more flavor in all the dishes we ordered. I'm hoping this was just an off night, as I've had better experiences at their downtown location. Been waiting for Ryujin to open for what seemed like years… and it finally has. The wait was totally worth it!Let’s first talk about how nice the decor and interior is. Very modern with lighting accents that make it feel very inviting. Little touches here and there just make the experience immersive.We arrived early, so the place was pretty empty. Service was immediate and we were seated right away. Being our first time, we took a bit to look over the menu. We decided on the Age Shumai for an appetizer, Aka Tonkotsu, and Karamiso Ramen.The Shumai was fried, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside with a nice crab flavor. Both ramen’s were huge portions, hot and presented very well.The Tonkotsu had a nice broth, lots of cabbage and mushrooms, and was topped with pickled ginger slices. I have to say, the ginger was an amazing topping that added so much flavor. The chashu was tender and flavorful. The noodles were cooked perfectly, chewy and not overcooked.The Karamiso was just as flavorful and loaded! Loaded with veggies and ground chicken. This wasn’t mine, but I tasted it.The one critique I will give is that both ramens were labeled as spicy, but neither would be considered spicy in my opinion. That being said, a simple ask for some chili oil solved that.Will definitely be going back!

Same menu as downtown Sac branch. Inside the restaurant is all new. Bright and welcoming. Nice modern chairs. They have woke restrooms so careful entering them. You might run into a scary weird surprise. The wait staff checks on you consistently. The price is what would you expect nowadays but the food quality is very good. The kurobota sausage are grilled instead of boiled. Smokey but I prefer the boiled version. There's some charring the ends sausage ends. Sausage is excellent as well. Juicy and tasty. I had the Shiro Tonkotsu and my Mom had the Miso ramen. All good. Glad they this opened up in Roseville so much closer where I live. This will be a perfect go to place in the Fall and Winter seasons.
