Saketini

1120 S Dobson Rd, Mesa, AZ 85202, USA

4.0
Our group decided to come here to celebrate a bachelorette party because we heard they have a private room for karaoke. What they failed to mention is that you can only use their equipment if you know how to read Korean because all of the equipment was in Korean. The staff was nearly non-existent and we had to go searching for someone each time we needed something. The private room was dirty and the floor was sticky. The room also still had decorations up from Christmas which shows how much the staff care about details. The speakers connected to the karaoke system were loud but one sounded like a blown out speaker that was in an old busted up car. One of the ledges on a sofa was broken like someone deflated the cushion however that's possible. The only saving grace was the food which I can't say was the best I ever had but for a few hungry women we made the most of it. We couldn't stop laughing at the whole situation because it's not like we had time to really pick something last minute. A day later though both my sister and I were sick and I just felt dizzy and nauseous where she unfortunately had diarrhea and nausea. Needless to say I will thankfully never return to this restaurant and I'm actually quite surprised that they are still in business at this point. It must be a good place where people just go to get drunk and not care about anything else. - Jenny Pacheco

Saketini Introduce

For those of us in Arizona looking for a unique spot that combines Japanese cuisine with a lively atmosphere, Saketini in Mesa often comes up in conversation. Located in the heart of Mesa, this establishment has aimed to offer more than just your average sushi bar, providing a space where patrons can enjoy a meal, drinks, and even karaoke. However, like any long-standing local business, experiences can vary, and it's important for residents to have a comprehensive understanding of what to expect.

Saketini has been a presence in the Mesa dining scene for a considerable time, and for many years, it was a beloved "favorite spot" for sushi, praised for its convenient location and late operating hours. The food, particularly certain sushi rolls, has historically been lauded as "amazing," drawing a loyal customer base. The restaurant also offers private rooms, a feature that has attracted groups looking for a more intimate and entertaining experience, such as bachelorette parties.

However, recent customer experiences highlight some inconsistencies that prospective visitors should be aware of. While the food, specifically sushi, has historically been a strong point for some, recent reviews indicate a decline in overall experience. Comments touch on issues ranging from the condition of private rooms, the functionality of karaoke equipment, and service attentiveness. One review unfortunately mentions a group finding the private room dirty, with a sticky floor and broken furniture, and difficulty getting staff assistance. Another long-time patron expressed disappointment over a decline in food quality consistency, noting an unusual sauce on a familiar roll and a "brick of cream cheese" as filler. These more recent accounts suggest that while Saketini has the potential for a fun night, patrons should manage their expectations, especially concerning aspects beyond the sushi itself.

Location and Accessibility

Saketini is conveniently located at 1120 S Dobson Rd, Mesa, AZ 85202, USA. This address places it in a well-trafficked area of Mesa, making it relatively easy to access for residents throughout the city and surrounding areas in Arizona. Dobson Road is a major north-south artery, providing straightforward navigation for those traveling by car.

The restaurant is situated within Dobson Square, a commercial plaza, which typically offers ample parking for customers. This accessibility is a significant advantage for diners, as finding a parking spot can often be a concern in busy areas. Its location also puts it near other businesses and residential areas, making it a convenient stop for a casual meal or a night out. For those relying on public transport, checking local bus routes that service Dobson Road would be advisable, as major roads in Mesa often have accessible public transportation options.

Being in Mesa, a large and diverse city in Arizona, Saketini benefits from being centrally located within a community that appreciates a wide range of dining experiences. Its easy-to-find spot means that whether you're planning a dinner or considering a late-night bite, getting to Saketini should be a hassle-free experience.

For residents of Mesa and the surrounding Arizona communities, Saketini offers a unique proposition as a local Japanese restaurant, particularly for those seeking a blend of dining and entertainment. While recent feedback suggests some areas for improvement, its enduring presence and specific features still make it a viable option for certain local needs.

One of the primary reasons Saketini remains suitable for locals is its extended operating hours. Staying open until 1 AM or 2 AM on most nights makes it a distinct choice for late-night dining or a final stop after other activities. In a city like Mesa, having a spot that offers fresh sushi and a full bar late into the evening fills a specific niche that many other establishments do not.

The availability of private karaoke rooms is another significant draw. These promotions, especially those that run "open to close," can make it an attractive option for a casual evening out, fostering a relaxed and social atmosphere.

While some recent customer experiences point to inconsistencies in service and facility upkeep, it's clear that Saketini has a history of providing enjoyable food for many years, and some of its offerings, such as specific sushi rolls, continue to be appreciated. For locals who prioritize late-night availability, karaoke, and drink specials, Saketini remains an establishment that offers a distinct experience in the Mesa dining and entertainment landscape.
