The Sushi Bar Reviews
May 11, 2025SundayWe went to TSB as a Mother's Day treat and were truly surprised! We ordered a hamachi kama as an appetizer (was warned it would take around 25 minutes to cook which is pretty standard, not photographed), 3 sushi rolls, and a lunch bento box all to share. The miso soup was lovely (not photographed), I think they use a bit of a higher quality miso than other restaurants. The hamachi kama was cooked well and came out around 20 minutes after it was rung in. Our sushi and bento box did take longer than other sushi restaurants we have been to but it was worth the wait. The salmon on the lemon drop roll was so fresh and the quality was lovely. The rice for all the roles was not too compressed and did not lack flavour. The bento's katsu was hot and not dry at all. I will say for $29, we probably would not purchase the dragon roll again. The eel's skin is tougher than most places we have tried, I think they cut and prepare it differently (which is fine, just not our preference). Their menu has lots of variety, feels just a little more authentic than some places (e.g. soba noodles are available on the menu, which I have never seen in Oklahoma before), and the pricing overall is reasonable. We truly enjoyed our waiter's banter and personality as well! At the end, he brought out dessert for Mother's Day as a special treat. The cookies were baked by a local, home based bakery named, Daughters Delights. They were incredible and I highly recommend placing an order if you are in the Edmond area!

The Naughty Girl salmon roll was good. Tuna Tataki and Yellow Tail with hot Korean style sauce (daily special) were both fresh and quite good. Edamame starter was fine as well. Service friendly, prices reasonable. Overall, this was a pretty good meal, recommendable for those who enjoy Japanese cuisine and searching for places to try in Edmond.
