Visiting from out of state and staying near the downtown so decided to give a try and was not disappointed! For 8:30pm on a Friday night they were absolutely packed which is usually a good sign. We ordered takeout, I called ahead to confirm the order and was assured it was being worked on with the notes I added so customer service was great. The portions were good (sushi rolls were packed!) and the price was definitely fair. Got some ramen for the picky kiddo and they made sure to make it to her preference: Solid all around! Give it a try for a sushi or noodle fix.

We were seated fast and good thing because the restaurant really filled up after we arrived. I ordered the Tom yum soup with chicken and a crazy dragon roll , I think it may be the best sushi I’ve had in the mountains yet. The restrooms are clean, the staff was always smiling and they have on site parking . A win win 🥇

Watami is my favorite restaurant in town. The food is always fresh and delicious. The service is excellent. I've eaten there many times, and have never been disappointed. Two thumbs up! Simply the best.👍🏻 👍🏻

We have eaten at a couple of places in downtown Waynesville, and I wanted to try this place out next. We came here for a lunch meal. We got the vegetarian tempura asparagus roll to share, and then I got the golden sesame chicken for my meal. My sister got the general tso's chicken meal. The tempura asparagus roll was one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had! It was delicious. I could probably eat a bunch of those rolls in one sitting. The golden sesame chicken was also delicious and it came with white rice. The chicken was crispy and juicy, and had just the right amount of sauce on it. It was a lot of food and lasted me two meals, but could probably stretch to 3-4 meals if you're not a big eater like I am. I do not remember our server's name but they were incredibly nice and attentive. I highly recommend this place!

We had a family celebration at Watami in their party room and it was really nice. The food there is always excellent and I enjoyed trying some new types of sushi on this visit. I highly recommend the Biltmore roll! My son had the seafood stuffed eggplant with garlic sauce that was just amazing! I'm ordering that next time. Our server, Gunn, was also very good and our food arrived quickly and all the orders were correct. Good job Watami!
