Edoko Sushi & Robata Reviews
Came here for our weekly date night as regular customers of these types of restaurants.Bf ordered Calamari, tempura pumpkin and the signature roll #1. I got gyoza, yakitori chicken, yakiniku short ribs, and the hot rock. The gyoza was more equivalent to mandu (had rice noodles inside, and a lot more fried and crispy than usual gyoza), but I enjoyed it alright for the price. My chicken was average at best and lacked flavor even with the sauce it was drenched in. The short ribs were the highlight of what I ordered, and had good grill taste and plenty more than I thought I would be receiving. The hot plate however was incredibly gimmicky, even more so than I expected. The meat was flavorless even when dipped in ponzu and even with the provided butter it stuck horribly to the rock. The mushrooms weren’t that impressive either, and you get maybe 7 tiny slices of beef. Do not get this dish if you come here.Bf enjoyed his pumpkin and calamari but said the tempura skin lacked flavor. However, he greatly enjoyed his sushi roll for the price and noted he would get it again.Overall, for the food I personally received, it was average at best and for sure overpriced. You can get similar better food nearby at a better price at Umiya off of Preston. I personally do not really wish to return for the price tag.Note that parking here was a bit crowded on a Friday night. We parked a 3-5 min walk away.
Mar 29, 2025 · Aimee Martello (Cherry)I was pleasantly impressed: fresh sashimi, as well as hot dishes - duck breast and steak were excellent. Special thanks for the perfectly matched sauces to the meat. Cons: the wait time for the waiter to take the order was a bit long, but I decided not to lower total score.
Mar 04, 2025 · Victoria SLast night went with a group of 8. Been here many many times over the years. It’s our go sushi place when in the mood for sushi. At least twice a month Took 20 minutes before our waiter showed up. Finally ordered some food and drinks. The food showed up before the drinks. The bar took forever. The hole experience was just off. Apparently our waiter got overwhelmed with customers. Hopefully this was a one time incident. Apparently the service has gotten better here are few items that we could get to eat we tried many items and left over which i would not recommend for later. Its best to enjoy it at the moment not good later
May 17, 2025 · Jamal KhouryThe sushi was delicious and filling. We ordered three different types: rainbow roll, panic roll, and volcano roll. We also got 2 Japanese beers. It all hit the spot. The hostess was so sweet and made my day with a compliment. We were seated quickly, and the ambiance was nice. Kind of posh but not super pretentious. Our server was also really great. I think his name was Jeffrey. Our commute was great too because we stayed at the Sheraton across the parking area. Would recommend!
Apr 14, 2025 · Trina SGood service, exceptional atmosphere, good food.I ordered the Edoko #1 roll, pumpkin tempura, and squid tempura. The Pumpkin and Squid Tempura was nothing special, but was good. The Edoko #1 roll was the standout of my meal. Most rolls that have this many ingredients are mediocre because none of the ingredients are distinguishable, but this roll was great and presented very well. My only gripe would be that the roll was hard to fit in one's mouthMy partner got some robata, pork Gyoza, and the hot stone beef. The robata was good, and the pork Gyoza was great, but the hot rock was disappointing. The beef was extremely thin and you only got a few pieces. Cooking on the rock was difficult, causing the beef to stick and shred. Finally, the beef was served with a large portion of regular slice mushrooms that seems to still have the dirt from the package on them.
