For those in Bellingham, Washington, with a strong craving for authentic and flavorful Japanese comfort food, Super Duper Teriyaki stands out as a distinctive and highly-regarded establishment. Located at 2019 Harris Ave, Bellingham, WA 98225, this restaurant offers a compelling solution to your culinary desires, providing a delicious and satisfying experience. Within the framework of the "Doctor Near Me" platform category, Super Duper Teriyaki functions as an immediate and effective "remedy," offering a meticulously prepared "prescription" for individuals or groups seeking top-tier Japanese food in their vicinity.
The "Doctor Near Me" platform, while primarily designed for healthcare services, also proves to be an invaluable resource for locating essential local businesses that address immediate needs and desires. When the "symptom" is a strong yearning for a hearty plate of teriyaki or crispy katsu, Super Duper Teriyaki perfectly embodies this concept. Its accessible location, combined with its reputation for delicious food and efficient service, makes it a readily available "specialist" in Japanese comfort cuisine. For those seeking a quick, satisfying, and fulfilling meal without the fuss, Super Duper Teriyaki offers a direct solution, much like finding a trusted professional for a specific personal requirement.
Upon stepping into Super Duper Teriyaki, patrons might encounter an environment that reflects its "hole in the wall" charm, a characteristic often associated with establishments that prioritize food quality above elaborate decor. This can sometimes lead to a unique and memorable initial impression, reminiscent of a "Seinfeld episode" for some. While specific details on seating or interior design are not extensively provided, the focus seems to be on efficiency, catering to a steady flow of customers, including "college age kids outside waiting." This implies a no-frills, functional space where the primary aim is to get delicious food out quickly. The atmosphere is likely bustling, especially during peak hours, and might involve a specific "protocol on ordering" that regular customers are familiar with. This type of environment, while perhaps not traditionally luxurious, often contributes to the authenticity and charm of the establishment, focusing the diner's attention entirely on the culinary experience. For a "Doctor Near Me" search, a straightforward and efficient environment can be highly appealing for a quick and satisfying meal.
Service at Super Duper Teriyaki has a unique and evolving character. Early experiences might have involved a more gruff, yet ultimately charming, interaction ("old Asian man who yelled at me to get out"). This "horrible service is no match for the delicious food they serve" suggests a place where the food quality so greatly surpasses any minor service quirks that it becomes part of the establishment's lore. More recently, however, service has evolved, with a "Friendly guy from SoCal greeted me and took my order," indicating a shift towards a more conventional welcoming approach. Despite this change, the underlying efficiency remains consistent. Customers are advised to "Call ahead if you don't want to wait" as "The phone was ringing off the hook!", highlighting its popularity and the demand for its food. This suggests that while there might be a wait during busy times, the service team is actively working to get orders processed and food prepared promptly. The inclusion of "complimentary miso" is a nice touch that adds value to the customer experience. This blend of evolving service dynamics and consistent efficiency makes Super Duper Teriyaki a reliable choice for a quick and satisfying meal, much like a trusted service found via a "Doctor Near Me" search.
The culinary features of Super Duper Teriyaki are clearly its strongest asset, with patrons consistently praising the taste and quality of its dishes. The "spicy chicken" teriyaki is a standout, described as "very spicy but well flavored," and diners can customize the "levels of spiciness" (e.g., "5 out of 6 levels"). The chicken "teriyaki was delicious, the sauce very unique" and "definitely better than average." Beyond the teriyaki, the "katsu was the real star at this joint," specifically the "chicken katsu." It's noted for being "nice and crisp," suggesting a perfectly fried exterior and tender interior. The gyoza are also highly recommended, being "well cooked with crispy edges, serving side was good and plenty of sauce for dipping!" The "complimentary soup," likely miso soup, is another welcome addition, though sometimes forgotten by eager customers. While one reviewer mentioned a "tiny amount of sauce in the ramekin" that was "not worth the plastic used to contain it," this minor point is outweighed by the overall positive feedback on flavor and portion sizes. The generous serving sizes are implied by the overall satisfaction, despite a comment that the "Price is a little steep," suggesting that the quantity and quality justify the cost. The emphasis on flavorful, authentic preparations makes Super Duper Teriyaki a go-to for hearty and satisfying Japanese comfort food.
Regarding promotional information, while explicit, time-sensitive discounts are not detailed in the provided reviews, Super Duper Teriyaki relies heavily on its reputation for delicious food and unique character as its primary form of promotion. The enthusiastic recommendations ("I would still recommend it to any friend in the area") and the anecdote about its "hole in the wall" charm contribute significantly to word-of-mouth marketing. The consistent praise for its food quality, particularly the katsu and spicy teriyaki, serves as the most effective form of promotion, drawing in new customers and ensuring repeat business. The option to "Call ahead" for orders is a convenient service feature that also helps manage customer flow and ensures a smoother experience during busy periods. For inquiries about specific menu items, customization options, or current wait times, the provided phone numbers, (360) 676-5385 and +1 360-676-5385, offer direct lines of communication. The presence of "college age kids outside waiting" indicates a strong local following, especially among students, who are often keen on value and quality. Super Duper Teriyaki Reviews
I ordered the spicy chicken and a side of gyoza. The gyoza were well cooked with crispy edges, serving side was good and plenty of sauce for dipping! The teriyaki was very spicy but well flavored. I ordered a 5 out of 6 levels of spiciness. Service was good and I didn't have to wait long. Call ahead if you don't want to wait. The phone was ringing off the hook! I forgot to get the complimentary soup. Something to try when i go back.
Sep 28, 2024 · Art MaasI had been by here on a lark during the pandemic a few years ago. There were a bunch of college age kids outside waiting and I wasn't exactly sure what to do. I went in and was instantly greeted by an old Asian man who yelled at me to get out. I always love the hole in the wall place where horrible service is no match for the delicious food they serve. I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode. Ok, now what? After learning the protocol on ordering I was able to place my order and received a delicious plate of teriyaki. Only later did I realize that besides the teriyaki the katsu was the real star at this joint. Fast forward to this week and I was passing by again and decided to stop in. I was determined to get the katsu this time. My experience was very different. Friendly guy from SoCal greeted me and took my order. Complimentary miso was a nice touch. Received my food and it was delicious but I must admit that I missed the old experience. Not the best ever teriyaki but definitely better than average. Katsu was nice and crisp and the sauce is very unique. Price is a little steep, but I would still recommend it to any friend in the area. Note the tiny amount of sauce in the ramekin. I'm not sure if it was for the gyoza or the teriyaki but the amount was not worth the plastic used to contain it. C'mon man.
May 04, 2024 · Mike VeloWe went because it was recommended as a hole in the wall type of place. It for sure is a hole in the wall no nonsense kind of place. Our orders were taken quickly and they seemed very busy with take out orders. There are a few tables and the atmosphere is exactly what you would expect. The food was fine. We only had chicken teriyaki so I can only speak to that. The portion was fine for the price but not special. No complaints at all. It was chicken teriyaki prepared in a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable price.
Dec 21, 2019 · Robin LoganThis place has been one of Fairhaven’s best kept gems for as long as I’ve lived here. Originally just super teriyaki back when the super store was still next door. They still have some of the best quick teriyaki in town. And the self serve miso soup with green onions is a huge bonus with every meal. My favorite is the pork yakisoba. Or the chicken fried rice. And you get to choose your spice level I think it’s one through five with every dish., I always do spice level twoThe seating is a little tight inside especially when it gets busy, I personally recommend ordering to go or grabbing the outside table. I usually order run Nextdoor for beers(great selection) cigarettes and snacks for later, at the store while I wait. Don’t forget the miso soup it’s simple but amazing.
May 03, 2025 · Sean O'DonnellPlaced my order that comes with free soup and a side salad. They're out of soup. They're out of salad. They still charged me 16 bucks. Get it together. This place SUCKS compared to how it used to be.
